Ruling Red

Well hello,

every once in a while I find a nail polish that I instantly fall in love with. And I end up reapplying it week after week, completely forgetting about the other nail polishes from my collection. And as I mentioned before here on my blog I have a bit more than just a few.
My latest love in the nail polish department happens to be Catrice Cosmetics Ruling Red nail polish from the Limited Edition LALA BERLIN FOR CATRICE Collection. If I´m not mistaken it  is not available anymore, but since it´so beautiful I just had to share it.

It is a Matte finish deep Bloody red shade. I really like this kind of shades, but I never wear them because they stain my nails and are so hard to remove. This one is not like that at all. Very opaque, one coat is all that it takes. It really surprised me. I usually spend a lot time working on my nails, mostly waiting for the polish to dry before applying the new one. With this nail polish you apply one coat that dries really quickly and bam...you can move on with your day. And another great thing - it doesn´t chip for days. Surprising since it´s just one coat and without a top coat. I really wish I picked up more shades from this collection.
Another thing I really like is the packaging. It is so simple yet elegant looking.

Best 14 of 2014

Well hello,

I know I´m kinda late on this one, but I cannot start a new year of blogging without letting go of the old one. And what better way to do that than to round up all the best products I have been enjoying throughout the year. This year I decided to do this post a bit different, I am going to show you my favourite 14 beauty products of 2014. Some of these products I´ve had for a longer time, but if it ain´t broke don´t fix it, right?

First, let´s talk about the foundation. I can´t believe that Catrice Cosmetics Nude Illusion became to be my favourite. I use it every day, without a doubt because I love the natural finish that it gives. Now, the reason I am so surprised is that when I tried it for the first time I absolutely hated it. But I tried a different way of applying it and never looked back. I used my Blending Sponge, again from Catrice and it changed the game for me. It blends and smooths the foundation beautifully.

I want to mention not one, but two concealers: one for the under eye circles -  Maybelline´s Instant Anti-Age Effect The Eraser Eye concealer and my all time favourite blemish concealer: Bourjois Healthy mix concealer.

Next up we need to mention a powder. I have absolutely been loving the MineralSkinfinish Natural from MAC. It sets my foundation but leaves a healthy looking glow. Can you tell already I am on a natural looking make-up kick? Speaking of MAC I also really enjoyed using a Sheertone blush in a shade Peaches. It´s a matte orange/coral. It warms up my skin tone and makes me look more awake and younger. I top my blush with my fave highlighter ever, CatriceCosmetics Prime and Fine Highlighter. It´s soooo pretty.

Now, let´s talk eye products. I loved using MAC Paint pot in Soft Ochre. It makes the eyeshadow pop and last all night long. My eyeshadow fave hasn´t changed from last year. My Naked 2 palette from Urban Decay is still the Bomb. My most used shadows are Tease and Bootycall. Next, eyeliner. On a daily basis I usually use eye pencils but when I want my eyes to stand out I use Catrice Cosmetics Gel Eyeliner. It is the blackest, most intense and best quality eyeliner I have ever tried. Last thing is the Eyebrow lifter from Catrice.

And last category are lip products, possibly my favourite. My fave lip liner is Deborah Milano 24 ORE. I had a bit more trouble choosing the best of the best lipsticks, but I think MACs Mehr must be my most used. At least towards the end of the year. And I almost forgot the nail polish. Hands down OPI Gouda Gouda two shoes. Even the name is too cute.

And there you have it. My best of the best beauty products of the 2014. I hope 2015 is also filled with awesome  new products. Before I leave you, I want to know what products you are excited to try in 2015.

Love,

My No Make-up Look

Well hello,

I generally love wearing smoky eyes and fun lip colors, but most of the time I wear very simple and natural look. I just don´t see the need to wear a ton of make-up during the day. So I wanted to share the products I use on a daily basis to achieve a flawless no make-up look.

I recently bought Nude Illusion Foundation from Catrice Cosmetics in the lightest shade available, 010 Nude Ivory and honestly I have quite a love and hate relationship with it. The first few days I was applying it with my hands and it looked just awful. But then I tried using the Blending Sponge and I have to say it leaves quite a natural, dewy finish. Still it only lasts a few hours before if starts fading away. I will keep on trying it out and let you know the final result.

Under my eyes I use Maybelline´s Instant Anti-Age Effect The Eraser Eye concealer, shade Fair 03. I love the applicator and the way it brightens up my whole face. At the moment this is my  fave concealer for under eye dark circles, but you can use it also for highlighting or blemishes.

For my blemishes I always use my holy grail concealer, Bourjois Healthy Mix in the shade 51.It is thicker consistency which covers all the imperfections. you can read my full review here.

In addition to having dark under eye circles I also have dark eyelids. I usually use the foundation to conceal them but lately I have been using Mac Pro Longwear Paint Pot in the color Soft Ochre. Even when I don´t put on any eyeshadow, I think it lasts longer and It doesn´t crease.

I top everything with  Translucent Rimmel Stay Matte Powder to set the concealer and prevent it from creasing and I also use it on my T-zone, which tends to get quite oily.

With light  hand I contour and bronze with my holy grail Essence Bronzing Powder in Love to be Matt (02). As  the name suggests it is a Matt bronzer with orange undertones. And I add a bit of natural color Blush. My favourite blush is Rose Whisper from Gosh.

For my eyes I like to use brown eyeliner, because it looks more subtle and natural. I use Catrice Cosmetics Khol Kajal eyeliner. My favourite Mascara is still 2000 Calorie from Max Factor. Lastly I add a highlighter under my brow bone, inner corners of the eyes and on a cupids bow. It comes in a form of jumbo pencil and it is Catrice Cosmetics Eyebrow Lifter in number 010, Lift Me Up, Scotty!

I know it sounds a lot, but every product adds something special and needed. Again, I use everything with light hand so it ends up looking effortless and natural. I hope you enjoyed this.

Mini Catrice Cosmetics Haul

Well hello,

It´s been a while since I wrote anything on my blog. Honestly, I had so much going on and when I did have time to write something I just didn´t find the passion. So I decided to take some time for myself and I guess I´m finally back. Also, just because I didn´t post any reviews doesn´t mean I wasn´t busy spending my money. I have tried so many products and I can´t wait to start typing, Ha ha

Anyways, lets stop this excuse fest and jump right into the mini Haul. Lately, every time I step into the Drugstore I end up buying some goodies. There are so many new products coming out and I can´t wait to try them. Especially Catrice Cosmetics came out with new foundations, blushes, lipsticks, you name it. One thing I was so happy to see was the Blending sponge. There was such a hype going on about Beauty Blender a while back, but the price was way to high. Especially not knowing If I would even like such a thing. I am so happy Catrice created It´s own dupe and I hope It will become one of my make-up staples. If nothing else, Catrice Make Up Blending Sponge will be a great way to release stress, since its so addictively squishy.

Another thing I picked up is yet another nail polish. But I promise I have nothing like it in my collection. I am recently on some sort of lavender/purple kick and this color is to die for. Not to mention purple is my absolute favourite color. I can´t wait to try Catrice Cosmetics It´s Time For Lovender

And lastly a new foundation. I was a bit sceptical about this one, because it is very liquidy and low coverage - both things I don´t usually go for. Still, Catrice always seems to pleasantly surprise me, so I got it anyways. If I don´t end up liking Nude Illusion Foundation, I will pass it on to my mommy. Problem solved.

Honestly, It feels quite nice to be back. I will report the results as soon as they are in, Ha ha. I hope you enjoyed this mini haul and stay tuned for more.

Love,

Spring nail polish picks 2014

Well hello,

During the winter I wore mostly neutral colors on my nails, except for a few sparkly occasions. But since spring is finally here It is time for some brighter and happier colors. During this time of year I mostly gravitate towards pastels and neutrals. These are my 6 faves right now:

4. Essence - 01 Be Flowerful
5. Essence - 72 Found My Love
6. Catrice Cosmetics - 540 Am I Blue Or Green?

I love them all the same. But if I had to choose my absolute favourite I would pick minty green shade. I am not the biggest fan of green color in general but this shade makes me happy.Who knew nail polish can have such a positive impact on people? Are you curious which shades made it into last years fave spring nail polishes? Check here!

Catrice Cosmetics Bonjour Chérie! nail polish

Well hello,

you should know by now how much I love neutral nail polishes since I am always talking and raving about them. As you can probably tell from the title I have another one that I absolutely love, to share with you.

Catrice Cosmetics Ultimate Nudes Collection is my favourite. I think I will own all of them pretty soon If I continue at this pace. Anyways back to the beautiful peachy-nude shade  polish called Bonjour Chérie! or number 05. Ahh...even the name is the cutest thing ever. These polishes are really good quality, they don´t chip as much as all the other drugstore nail polishes and the color selection is  phenomenal. This shade is quite sheer, but with two coats comes out pretty opaque. The color is really elegant and  subtle, it would suit all ages and you can wear it in all seasons and on all occasions. It really is a great product, I have  been wearing it  for three weeks straight. Love, love, love.

Do you own any Catrice nail polishes? Any favourites?

Catrice Cosmetics Prime and Fine Highlighter

Well hello,

I am sure It´s hard to believe, but this is my first highlighter ever. That´s right. I have been eyeing this one for the longest time, but I just wasn´t sure I want glowy cheeks, since I am loving the Matte look. But recently it was on sale and you can clearly tell what happened  next. I caved in.

And I don´t regret it the slightest. It really pulls the look together. It doesn´t look anything special in the pan, but creates subtle golden glow in the light. It is not too shimmery, but there are a few fine shimmers in it. Since this is my first highlighter I don´t really have anything to compare it to. All I know is I love it and I want more. Ha ha.

The packaging is very simple and sleek, just like the rest of Prime and Fine line. It´s travel friendly and very elegant looking. The highlighting powder is very fine and  it blends well. It lasts throughout the whole day and  it´s quite pigmented, you only need a little bit. The shade I have chosen is the lightest in number 010 and It´s called Fairy Dust. I do find it quite light, but I think it would suit darker skin tones as well, because of the golden shimmer.

I am really impressed with the quality of this product. Both packaging and the powder itself are really good, which doesn´s surprise me at all. Catrice Cosmetics never lets me down. Next one on my  list is theBalms Mary-Lou manizer.

Do you like using highlighter? Which is your favourite?

Catrice Cosmetics Crushed crystals nail polish review

Well hello,

I am not the biggest fan of glitter nail polishes, especially because they are really hard to remove. And I don´t really like the fact that they are basically clear polish with one or two glitters in it. But then I saw crushed crystals from Catrice and couldn´t resist.

It´s a special nail polish for a unique sand effect and it has ultimate coverage with sparkling rough finish. Basically it is nail polish filled with different glitter parts and sparkles that cover your whole nail. The different glitters really make it special.

I chose the color 04 - Oyster and Champagne. It has white and gold fine sparkles and rosy bigger glitter parts. It all looks very elegant. Its one of those special yet subtle colors. So it works on everyday occasions as well as for party's and such. It also changes color a bit if you add a different color polish underneath. I used a light pastel orange and  it looked so cute. Also only one coat is necessary. And it barely chips at all. Great for all of as who are too lazy to keep reapplying nail polish.

I really hope they keep this in a permanent range and add new shades. Right now I only saw three shades. Mine, pink and grey. But those two didn´t look to special to me. These ones are a bit more expensive then the rest of the nail polishes. They are about 3,50 Euros. I really recommend them. You definitely should pick them up.

Have you tried these? Any thoughts?

Best of 2013 - Eyes

Well hello,

even though I love lipsticks and blushes way more than eyeshadow,  last year I played with eyeshadow quite a bit. So let´s take a look at my fave eye products of 2013.

I have been using Prime and Fine from Catrice Cosmetics as an eyeshadow primer for a long time now, It also made it in my 2012 favourites. I had a love and hate relationship with this one, since it is made for the face, where it failed miserably. My oily skin was  an even oilier mess and I was ready to throw it away. Then I used it on my eyes and I couldn´t believe how great it works. It doesn´t creases, eyeshadow stays on for hours and hours and it is very buttery. It really is the best. And so affordable. Winning combination! Mine is pretty beat up that is why I added an official picture.

Prime and Fine Smoothing Refiner

I also caved in all the hype about Maybelline 24hr Color Tatoos, and I obviously fell in love in them. I own three shades, but my fave is Permanent Taupe (I still don´t get the different names!), which is perfect neutral matte  shade for everyday  use. It has been my winter must have. I have been using it as an eyeshadow base as well as on its own. Equally beautiful.

left to right: Permanent Taupe, Prime and Fine

For a single eyeshadow I have to mention Catrice Cosmetics Liquid metal eyeshadow in the shade  All real Gold. This one came out in a collection, but they have many beautiful shades in the permanent range now. The pigmentation is phenomenal and staying power as well. You have to check them out.

Now for the favourite palette. I finally own The Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette. And I am amazed with the quality and beauty of the shadows. It is probably my number one product for the 2013. I will do a review on this one soon.

My fave eyeliner is  a repeat from 2012 favourites, but what can I  say? I always go back to it. Its Catrice Cosmetics Kohl Kajal eyeliner. It´s very creamy,  pigmented and long lasting. I have been using black and brown eyeliner as well.

And lastly, fave mascara. I finally found a mascara that I love more that Maybelline Falsies mascara. Even though they come pretty close, I just prefer Maxfactor 2000 Calorie. It is extremely black, ,thickening and voluming. In the last year I probably repurchased it about three times.

And that is all for eye favourites. The last category is coming up shortly.

Love,

Best of 2013 - Face

My  favourite make-up products of 2013

Well hello,

2013 has been quite a year. I presented my first designs at Fashion week, I traveled a bit, visited Sephora for the first time,... But it wasn´t all great. There sure were some ups and downs. But I´m curious to see what the new year will bring.

I spent a lot of money on make-up last year. My  make-up collection grew tremendously, which I am really happy about. And now I would like to show you the products I reached for the most. I don´t have a product for every category, which means I haven´t found something I love yet or I have  been using the same product as the year before. I am splitting them in categories: Face, Eyes and Other. You can see my 2012 favourites here: Face, Eyes, Lips.

Let´s start with Face favourites. I don´t have a new foundation this year, because I always seem to go back to Infinite Matt foundation from Catrice Cosmetics.  But I did find a new powder, that I actually like. It is Rimmels Stay Matte powder, that everyone raves about. Mine is in the shade 003  Peach glow. I have a review here. Now, I don´t love this powder, but it is by far the best one I have tried so far.

I finally found my holy grail concealer. And it is from drugstore! I have been absolutely loving and repurchasing Bourjois Healthy Mix concealer. It is thicker consistency and it covers blemishes very well.

In 2013 I also found a love for blushes. And because I can´t choose my absolute favourite, I decided to show you two of my most worn blushes. I talked about first one before, It is Sleeks  Flushed Blush.  The color is very suitable for fall and I love it. But the thing that makes this blush so special is the pigmentation. It is crazy pigmented and very long lasting.

Next one I purchased towards the end of the year but I am obsessed with it. It is Gosh Natural Blush in the shade Rose Whisper, number 36. They don´t have many shades available, but this one really stood out. It might not look anything special at first, but it gives the most natural flush to the cheeks and it makes me look younger and well rested. I absolutely love it. I will do a review on this one very soon.

And that is it for now. Stay tuned for my favourite Eye products of 2013.

Love,

Catrice Cosmetics Infinite Shine Lip gloss

Well hello,

I might have mentioned this before but I don´t really like wearing lip glosses. Which is ironic, because when I was little I always sported clear lip gloss and it was actually my first makeup product I have ever bought. I just don´t like the stickiness and the feel on the lips. However, I really like wearing nude lipsticks which sometimes need a small coat of lip gloss to make them wearable, especially the lightest ones.

For that purpose I picked up the Catrice Cosmetics Infinite Shine Lip gloss. The name pretty much says it all. It is extremely shiny formula, almost wet looking. On the lips it feels very light and most important it doesn´t feel sticky. The applicator is quite small but effective. The color I have chosen is 030 Rose, Would You...which is a nice nude, rosy color. This one is shimmer free and quite sheer. It adds just enough color to the lips to pull the look together. Ia actually pretty like this one. I am still not the biggest fan of lip glosses but I quite enjoy using this one. Hope this helps.

Catrice Cosmetics: All Round Concealer Palette

Well hello,

I have been passing by this product for a while. But lately my dark under eye circles have been bothering me more and more. I haven't heard any good reviews about this one but I couldn´t seem to find anything similar in the drugstore. So I decided to give it a go.

This compact concealer comes in 5 shades. Three beige tones for concealing blemishes, a green shade to counteract redness and lastly a pink shade to hide the dark under eye circles. First I want to mention that the formula is quite creamy, It slightly melts from the warmth of the hands. I find it quite sheer but buildable to some extent. However I wouldn't use it on the blemishes. But it works as an under eye concealer. Between three beige shades the middle one suits me the best, the lightest one is just a bit too light, It will definitely suit light complexion. The darkest one is a bit too dark, perhaps I can use it in the summer time. The one thing great about having these three shades is that you can mix them and create a shade that works for you.

I actually like the green shade. I think it works quite well. I use it on my blemishes to reduce the redness and I put foundation on top. If I´m still not satisfied with coverage I ad some thicker concealer, right now I am using Bourjois Healthy mix concealer, which I love.

I am pretty sure the pink shade should be more salmon and not as pink, but my under eye circles are pretty dark so I guess it works this way too. I can definitely see a difference, but it is probably not the best out there.

This concealer palette comes in a compact plastic packaging, which makes it perfect for travel. And as all the other Catrice Cosmetics products it is very affordable. The product itself is decent, but nothing too crazy. It is not one of those products you just have to have, but good for the beginners to try out.

What do you think about this palette?

Love,
