Best 14 of 2014

Well hello,

I know I´m kinda late on this one, but I cannot start a new year of blogging without letting go of the old one. And what better way to do that than to round up all the best products I have been enjoying throughout the year. This year I decided to do this post a bit different, I am going to show you my favourite 14 beauty products of 2014. Some of these products I´ve had for a longer time, but if it ain´t broke don´t fix it, right?

First, let´s talk about the foundation. I can´t believe that Catrice Cosmetics Nude Illusion became to be my favourite. I use it every day, without a doubt because I love the natural finish that it gives. Now, the reason I am so surprised is that when I tried it for the first time I absolutely hated it. But I tried a different way of applying it and never looked back. I used my Blending Sponge, again from Catrice and it changed the game for me. It blends and smooths the foundation beautifully.

I want to mention not one, but two concealers: one for the under eye circles -  Maybelline´s Instant Anti-Age Effect The Eraser Eye concealer and my all time favourite blemish concealer: Bourjois Healthy mix concealer.

Next up we need to mention a powder. I have absolutely been loving the MineralSkinfinish Natural from MAC. It sets my foundation but leaves a healthy looking glow. Can you tell already I am on a natural looking make-up kick? Speaking of MAC I also really enjoyed using a Sheertone blush in a shade Peaches. It´s a matte orange/coral. It warms up my skin tone and makes me look more awake and younger. I top my blush with my fave highlighter ever, CatriceCosmetics Prime and Fine Highlighter. It´s soooo pretty.

Now, let´s talk eye products. I loved using MAC Paint pot in Soft Ochre. It makes the eyeshadow pop and last all night long. My eyeshadow fave hasn´t changed from last year. My Naked 2 palette from Urban Decay is still the Bomb. My most used shadows are Tease and Bootycall. Next, eyeliner. On a daily basis I usually use eye pencils but when I want my eyes to stand out I use Catrice Cosmetics Gel Eyeliner. It is the blackest, most intense and best quality eyeliner I have ever tried. Last thing is the Eyebrow lifter from Catrice.

And last category are lip products, possibly my favourite. My fave lip liner is Deborah Milano 24 ORE. I had a bit more trouble choosing the best of the best lipsticks, but I think MACs Mehr must be my most used. At least towards the end of the year. And I almost forgot the nail polish. Hands down OPI Gouda Gouda two shoes. Even the name is too cute.

And there you have it. My best of the best beauty products of the 2014. I hope 2015 is also filled with awesome  new products. Before I leave you, I want to know what products you are excited to try in 2015.

Love,

My No Make-up Look

Well hello,

I generally love wearing smoky eyes and fun lip colors, but most of the time I wear very simple and natural look. I just don´t see the need to wear a ton of make-up during the day. So I wanted to share the products I use on a daily basis to achieve a flawless no make-up look.

I recently bought Nude Illusion Foundation from Catrice Cosmetics in the lightest shade available, 010 Nude Ivory and honestly I have quite a love and hate relationship with it. The first few days I was applying it with my hands and it looked just awful. But then I tried using the Blending Sponge and I have to say it leaves quite a natural, dewy finish. Still it only lasts a few hours before if starts fading away. I will keep on trying it out and let you know the final result.

Under my eyes I use Maybelline´s Instant Anti-Age Effect The Eraser Eye concealer, shade Fair 03. I love the applicator and the way it brightens up my whole face. At the moment this is my  fave concealer for under eye dark circles, but you can use it also for highlighting or blemishes.

For my blemishes I always use my holy grail concealer, Bourjois Healthy Mix in the shade 51.It is thicker consistency which covers all the imperfections. you can read my full review here.

In addition to having dark under eye circles I also have dark eyelids. I usually use the foundation to conceal them but lately I have been using Mac Pro Longwear Paint Pot in the color Soft Ochre. Even when I don´t put on any eyeshadow, I think it lasts longer and It doesn´t crease.

I top everything with  Translucent Rimmel Stay Matte Powder to set the concealer and prevent it from creasing and I also use it on my T-zone, which tends to get quite oily.

With light  hand I contour and bronze with my holy grail Essence Bronzing Powder in Love to be Matt (02). As  the name suggests it is a Matt bronzer with orange undertones. And I add a bit of natural color Blush. My favourite blush is Rose Whisper from Gosh.

For my eyes I like to use brown eyeliner, because it looks more subtle and natural. I use Catrice Cosmetics Khol Kajal eyeliner. My favourite Mascara is still 2000 Calorie from Max Factor. Lastly I add a highlighter under my brow bone, inner corners of the eyes and on a cupids bow. It comes in a form of jumbo pencil and it is Catrice Cosmetics Eyebrow Lifter in number 010, Lift Me Up, Scotty!

I know it sounds a lot, but every product adds something special and needed. Again, I use everything with light hand so it ends up looking effortless and natural. I hope you enjoyed this.

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder

 Well hello,

I am always on a lookout for a great powder. My skin is really oily, so I always have to set my liquid foundation. Therefore Mattyfying powder is a necessity in my make-up bag. I have tried many drugstore powders before but not one of them really blew me away. So I tend to use it up and when it´s all gone I try something else, hoping the next one, that comes my way will be The one.

I have heard so many great reviews about Rimmels Stay Matte so I recently picked it up. I chose the medium one I guess, since they had 5 different, all pretty pale shades. So it will not be suited for a darker complexion. I chose number 003, Peach glow. I find that it leaves the skin feeling very silky and smoother, which I haven´t noticed in any other powders I previously owned. I don´t think it is all that great, when it comes to mattyfying, as I had to blot my face during the day. And that it not the best sign for a product that raves about it´s mattyfying powers. But I will let you know how it goes in the future.

Do you have a holy grail powder? Let me know.

Beauty Wishlist

 Well hello,

Lately I have been trying not to spend money on things I don´t really need, but sometimes I think I should be allowed to treat myself. And what better way to do so, than buying new beauty products. Also I am running out of some bits, so it is about time for me to venture out and try some new products. Here is a list of beauty things I have been eyeing for a while now.

I really want to try Rimmel London Apocalips Lip Lacquers in Luna. I already own one in Celestial, which is gorgeous and I really like the Formula. But I have a feeling I am going to love Luna even more.

A year ago I started applying my makeup with brushes, before that I always used my hands. The brushes were really cheap and great for a brush beginner, but now, I really want some great quality brushes, that don´t shed, apply the products evenly and are easy to clean. I heard a lot of great things about the Real Techniques brushes, so I would love to try them out.

Another brands products, I haven´t had the chance to try out is Sleek. I really want to get one of their natural shades palette and the contour kit. Their quality is compared to higher end products and they just look lovely. Also I don´t own any great palette with natural eye shadows, so it would come in handy.

I heard a lot about the Maybelline Color Tatoo´s. I swatched them a few times, but haven´t had the courage to get them. The colors are lovely and bright, but not very wearable, at least for me. The ones I do think would look great for summer are the gold (Bold Gold) and bronze one (Bad To The Bronze), so I would love to try them out.

And lastly, I am running out of my favourite face powder. So it is about time to try Rimmel London´s Stay Matt face powder. Everyone is raving about this bad boy, so I am quite excited to get it.

What is on your beauty wishlist? Let me know.

Best of 2012 - Face

Hello gorgeous!

I know it is a bit late, but i tought i would share my favourite beauty products of 2012. I am going to devide them in different categories: Eyes, face, and lips+nails. But first here is a little sneak peek ;)

So the first categorie will be face products. My favourite foundation for the past year has been  Infinite MATT foundation from Catrice Cosmetics, which has without a doubt become my favourite drugstore brand - its cheap and effective! Anyway,  the foundation states, that it lasts for up to 18 hours. Now, i never had it on for that long, but i have to say, that the staying power is amazing, it lasts thoughout the day. It stays matt, so i never had to repowder. Simply said, it is an amazing foundation.

Next fave face product has to be Mac studio finish concealer. Last year i had a lot of problems with my skin and this concealer has helped me trough it. It is quite thick consistency, so i don´t recommend it for your under eyes dark circles, because i find, that it creases easily. But for blemishes, it is the best concealer that i tried so far.

My next product is also concealer. it is in a more liquid form, so it is perfect for smaller imperfections on your face, but also for under eye circles. It is from the brand called Misslyn, which is a new brand in my drugstore. And so far i like it. I usually used one or the other concealer, but sometimes the combination of the two.

My favourite powder has been Manhattans Soft Compact Powder in the color Vanille (nbr. 8). And if you can´t tell i just hit pan on it, because i had been using it all the time.

I really love bronzers, especially the Essence Bronzing Compact Powder in I love to be matt. It just works for me. Eventhough it is a bit on the orange side, i make it work. haha

And the last but not least, is my Catrice Cosmetics blush duo in Apricot smoothie. I especially like the orange side, because it warms my face, without making it seem TOO MUCH, if you know what i am trying too say. :)

It is safe to say i will definitely repurchase these products.

Have you tried any of these products? what are your thoughts?
