A little update - I HAVE A NEW BLOG!!!

Ice cream digital print

Well hello everyone,

I haven´t written here in a while. Not because of laziness or lack of inspiration but there just been a lot going on. I have been working on my school, my last exams and diploma and started working on a lot of new projects that take up a lot of my time. You already know I love creating and that has taken over my life :) Also we have an addition to our family, my cousin gave birth to a beautiful baby girl recently and I just can´t stay away.

Eat ice cream and nevermind

I do have to be honest I felt a bit stuck here on my blog, I felt stuck in a rut, like there was nowhere to grow, no place for creativity. Me and my sister (a journalist/art fanatic) have been talking about creating a blog together for a while and it just made sense to actually go through with it. So there you have it: I HAVE A NEW BLOG! I feel very inspired, full with new ideas and creativity and I am so happy about it. This time I will not be writing only about Beauty. We decided to incorporate everything important to us and settled on 5 topics: On Mondays we write about Motivation, Tuesdays are reserved for Beauty, Wednesdays are all about Fashion, Thursdays are Health and Weight loss related and finally Fridays are all about Arts and Crafts. If you are interested in any of these topics please stop by and take a look.

And another thing, we finally opened an Etsy shop. We both love everything to do with art and we wanted to share that and our art with you. We are currently offering digital designs, digital prints, wall decor, digital tags and pattern packs for scrapbooking, card making and other crafts. We would greatly appreciate if you would check us out.

You can also find us on twitter, pinterest and bloglovin.

My Must See Tv Shows

Well hello,

I hope you are having a lovely weekend. Since it is Sunday today, I wanted to keep it light and talk about something I will be doing all day today - yup, watching all of my favourite TV shows. I am a huge TV shows lover, I practically watch everything and not to brag I have an amazing taste in them....well just a bit of bragging here, Ha ha. I get asked by my friends all the time for suggestions on the best TV shows to watch and I wanted to share my picks to you as well. So here we go...Let the countdown begin!

#5 STALKER

#4 ORIGINALS

#3 SUITS

#2 HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER

#1 REIGN

Honestly I don´t think #1 spot is going to change any time soon. I have been in love in Reign since I saw the trailer. The Music, the scenes...everything is so captivating. And it is so different from anything else. It has everything you can ask for in a TV show: love, drama, secrets, crime, mystery, great fashion, history, the best music,...I mean I could go on and on.

This list is a list of my favorite TV Shows at the moment. Keep in mind it is always changing. And when it does I will probably do another post. I am always looking for new shows to watch so if you have any suggestions, please let me know. And while your at it share your fave TV Show of all time.

Ruling Red

Well hello,

every once in a while I find a nail polish that I instantly fall in love with. And I end up reapplying it week after week, completely forgetting about the other nail polishes from my collection. And as I mentioned before here on my blog I have a bit more than just a few.
My latest love in the nail polish department happens to be Catrice Cosmetics Ruling Red nail polish from the Limited Edition LALA BERLIN FOR CATRICE Collection. If I´m not mistaken it  is not available anymore, but since it´so beautiful I just had to share it.

It is a Matte finish deep Bloody red shade. I really like this kind of shades, but I never wear them because they stain my nails and are so hard to remove. This one is not like that at all. Very opaque, one coat is all that it takes. It really surprised me. I usually spend a lot time working on my nails, mostly waiting for the polish to dry before applying the new one. With this nail polish you apply one coat that dries really quickly and bam...you can move on with your day. And another great thing - it doesn´t chip for days. Surprising since it´s just one coat and without a top coat. I really wish I picked up more shades from this collection.
Another thing I really like is the packaging. It is so simple yet elegant looking.

Winter Lipstick choices

from left to right: Kinda Sexy, Brave, Mehr, 497
Well hello,

Winter time has to be my favourite time for wearing lipsticks. It seems to be the only season when you can pull off all kinds of shades, from soft and romantic nudes all the way to vampy and mysterious dark shades. I happen to love nudes the most, but this winter I found myself reaching for mostly purple shades. I kept my four faves in the rotation and I will share them with you today. They are all pretty similar, yet completely different at the same time.

1. MAC - Mehr (Matte)

The first one is probably my favourite one. I´s the perfect mix between raspberry and purple color. And what I love the most about this one, that it is completely Matte finish. Still, it feels pretty moisturising on the lips and it last for a very long time.

2. MAC - Brave (Satin)

This one is actually pretty similar shade to the Mehr lipstick, so if you own one you probably don´t need the  other. However, this one is true purple shade and the Satin finish ads a bit of a shine. It´s also very long lasting.

3. Art Deco - 497 (High Performance Lipstick)

I am actually not sure if this one is a part of permanent collection, still it is one of my faves so I just had to include it. It happens to differ from the rest in finish and color. It is extremely glossy and it feels quite buttery on the lips. Its pretty pigmented, but looks a bit darker than in the tube.

Kinda Sexy has been one of my favorites for a long time. It´s a darker nude with a slight coral tone. (on the lips it actually looks lighter than in the tube or swatched) It is Matte but doesn´t feel drying on the lips, however it might settle in the fine lines. You can rock this one for any occasion in any season.

from left to right: Kinda Sexy, Brave, Mehr, 497

I hope you enjoyed my picks. Let me know which shade has been your number one choice this winter time?

Love,

Best 14 of 2014

Well hello,

I know I´m kinda late on this one, but I cannot start a new year of blogging without letting go of the old one. And what better way to do that than to round up all the best products I have been enjoying throughout the year. This year I decided to do this post a bit different, I am going to show you my favourite 14 beauty products of 2014. Some of these products I´ve had for a longer time, but if it ain´t broke don´t fix it, right?

First, let´s talk about the foundation. I can´t believe that Catrice Cosmetics Nude Illusion became to be my favourite. I use it every day, without a doubt because I love the natural finish that it gives. Now, the reason I am so surprised is that when I tried it for the first time I absolutely hated it. But I tried a different way of applying it and never looked back. I used my Blending Sponge, again from Catrice and it changed the game for me. It blends and smooths the foundation beautifully.

I want to mention not one, but two concealers: one for the under eye circles -  Maybelline´s Instant Anti-Age Effect The Eraser Eye concealer and my all time favourite blemish concealer: Bourjois Healthy mix concealer.

Next up we need to mention a powder. I have absolutely been loving the MineralSkinfinish Natural from MAC. It sets my foundation but leaves a healthy looking glow. Can you tell already I am on a natural looking make-up kick? Speaking of MAC I also really enjoyed using a Sheertone blush in a shade Peaches. It´s a matte orange/coral. It warms up my skin tone and makes me look more awake and younger. I top my blush with my fave highlighter ever, CatriceCosmetics Prime and Fine Highlighter. It´s soooo pretty.

Now, let´s talk eye products. I loved using MAC Paint pot in Soft Ochre. It makes the eyeshadow pop and last all night long. My eyeshadow fave hasn´t changed from last year. My Naked 2 palette from Urban Decay is still the Bomb. My most used shadows are Tease and Bootycall. Next, eyeliner. On a daily basis I usually use eye pencils but when I want my eyes to stand out I use Catrice Cosmetics Gel Eyeliner. It is the blackest, most intense and best quality eyeliner I have ever tried. Last thing is the Eyebrow lifter from Catrice.

And last category are lip products, possibly my favourite. My fave lip liner is Deborah Milano 24 ORE. I had a bit more trouble choosing the best of the best lipsticks, but I think MACs Mehr must be my most used. At least towards the end of the year. And I almost forgot the nail polish. Hands down OPI Gouda Gouda two shoes. Even the name is too cute.

And there you have it. My best of the best beauty products of the 2014. I hope 2015 is also filled with awesome  new products. Before I leave you, I want to know what products you are excited to try in 2015.

Love,

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation

Well hello,

when it comes to foundations I usually stick to what I know and love, which just happens to be my Catrice Cosmetics All About Matt Foundation. As I was running low on supply I decided to change things up and choose something else. Even though I heard this name being thrown around in the Beauty community I wasn´t really paying attention to what was being said. Still, I picked up the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation shade Classic beige, 201, which was the lightest shade available at the store at that time. Which ended up being a little too dark for me.

Right off the bat, there was something really unique about this foundation. It is quite thick, yet extremely smooth to the touch, which I like quite a lot. It´s not like your average liquid foundation, it has creamy consistency. It blends very easily and leaves the skin looking dewy and natural. If you look really closely you can notice a bit of shimmer in the bottle, which is not noticeable once applied to the face. The coverage is medium, but buildable, without looking cakey. It has a nice creamy smell to it. It also has SPF 15 which is a bonus. I usually don´t mention the packaging, since the only thing that really matters is the actual product. But this one looks quite expensive. I really enjoy it.

On the negative side, I did notice that it doesn´t last very long. After a few hours it starts fading away. I have quite oily skin and I found I had to blot and powder my face many times throughout the day. It emphasized my oily T-zone, which I haven´t experienced with any other foundation before. That is why I would recommend this foundation to people with dry or combination skin or wearing it in cooler seasons.

With all that said I still really like this foundation and use it on a regularly basis. I just mix it with my lighter, Mattyfying foundation and it creates the perfect color and finish for my skin. It is one of those foundations you throw on when you don´t feel like wearing a full face of make-up, you only need a bit and you are good to go. Just remember to always have your fave powder nearby. Have you tried this foundation? Let me know your thoughts.

Fave Fall Lip Combo: Mac+Art Deco

Well hello,

I mentioned before I am on some sort of purple kick and you know what that means: purple lips. For darker lips I always use a lip liner to prevent the product smudging all over my face. Also it makes it last for ever. I am one of those girls who hate reapplying their lipstick. The last thing I want to be doing is always worrying about my lipstick.

That is why this liner is perfect. Art deco waterproof lip liner in the color 91 stays on until you remove it with make-up remover. I apply it once and don´t have to worry about it at all. Plus, the color is so fab. Especially since my fave color is purple. It could get a bit drying, that is why I always use a bit of lip balm underneath.

I top it with Mac Mehr lipstick. It´s Matte finish, my favourite. The color is a bit more raspberry, than purple but together they look perfect. Like most Mac Matte lipsticks it´s not drying at all, it actually feels like butter on the lips. Also it smells quite nice.

At the end I like to add a bit more lip liner to the corners of my lips end blend it with the lipstick which gives subtle ombre effect. This way it adds more dimension end it makes it more interesting.
Hope you enjoyed this quick post. What is your favourite lip combo at the moment?

My No Make-up Look

Well hello,

I generally love wearing smoky eyes and fun lip colors, but most of the time I wear very simple and natural look. I just don´t see the need to wear a ton of make-up during the day. So I wanted to share the products I use on a daily basis to achieve a flawless no make-up look.

I recently bought Nude Illusion Foundation from Catrice Cosmetics in the lightest shade available, 010 Nude Ivory and honestly I have quite a love and hate relationship with it. The first few days I was applying it with my hands and it looked just awful. But then I tried using the Blending Sponge and I have to say it leaves quite a natural, dewy finish. Still it only lasts a few hours before if starts fading away. I will keep on trying it out and let you know the final result.

Under my eyes I use Maybelline´s Instant Anti-Age Effect The Eraser Eye concealer, shade Fair 03. I love the applicator and the way it brightens up my whole face. At the moment this is my  fave concealer for under eye dark circles, but you can use it also for highlighting or blemishes.

For my blemishes I always use my holy grail concealer, Bourjois Healthy Mix in the shade 51.It is thicker consistency which covers all the imperfections. you can read my full review here.

In addition to having dark under eye circles I also have dark eyelids. I usually use the foundation to conceal them but lately I have been using Mac Pro Longwear Paint Pot in the color Soft Ochre. Even when I don´t put on any eyeshadow, I think it lasts longer and It doesn´t crease.

I top everything with  Translucent Rimmel Stay Matte Powder to set the concealer and prevent it from creasing and I also use it on my T-zone, which tends to get quite oily.

With light  hand I contour and bronze with my holy grail Essence Bronzing Powder in Love to be Matt (02). As  the name suggests it is a Matt bronzer with orange undertones. And I add a bit of natural color Blush. My favourite blush is Rose Whisper from Gosh.

For my eyes I like to use brown eyeliner, because it looks more subtle and natural. I use Catrice Cosmetics Khol Kajal eyeliner. My favourite Mascara is still 2000 Calorie from Max Factor. Lastly I add a highlighter under my brow bone, inner corners of the eyes and on a cupids bow. It comes in a form of jumbo pencil and it is Catrice Cosmetics Eyebrow Lifter in number 010, Lift Me Up, Scotty!

I know it sounds a lot, but every product adds something special and needed. Again, I use everything with light hand so it ends up looking effortless and natural. I hope you enjoyed this.

A Touch of Spring in The Fall Time?

Well hello,

I know everyone is already busy layering their dark clothes and digging out their vampy lipsticks, but I can´t seem to part with my spring colors, especially on my nails. Since I mostly wear black clothes all year around I enjoy wearing bright and colorful nail polishes. So, you do your thing and I will sport a little touch of spring in the Fall time.

A couple months back I received three spring shade Rimmel  nail polishes for my B-day (that I have picked out myself) and I have been obsessed with them ever since. The colors are absolutely gorgeous and I am having a hard time leaving them behind. My absolute fave of the trio is the one I  already owned and raved about on my blog: Misty Jade. I am usually not a fan of green color but there is something about this one that has me mesmerized. I think it might be my fave nail polish shade ever. I really do. It makes my skin look tan and it makes me happy just looking at it.

Next is light orange/coral shade, which I have been obsessing over for a while now as you might already know. Again, as a color I am not the biggest fan of orange but is seems to work for my skin. I love wearing coral blushes, because they warm up my skin tone and it makes my skin look younger, and more rested. The same goes for this nail polish. I think Tangy Tangerine makes my skin look quite nice and young looking.

And lastly a pale yellow shade: Lemon Drop, This one looks so gorgeous. It is quite pale, which means the skin will appear darker. Have you noticed a theme here? I have quite pale skin, so wearing lighter shades of nail polish helps. Still, the polish looks so soft and elegant on the nails. Perfect shade for any season.

Are you breaking any Fall time rules like me and holding onto summer? Share your secrets in the comments.

Mini Catrice Cosmetics Haul

Well hello,

It´s been a while since I wrote anything on my blog. Honestly, I had so much going on and when I did have time to write something I just didn´t find the passion. So I decided to take some time for myself and I guess I´m finally back. Also, just because I didn´t post any reviews doesn´t mean I wasn´t busy spending my money. I have tried so many products and I can´t wait to start typing, Ha ha

Anyways, lets stop this excuse fest and jump right into the mini Haul. Lately, every time I step into the Drugstore I end up buying some goodies. There are so many new products coming out and I can´t wait to try them. Especially Catrice Cosmetics came out with new foundations, blushes, lipsticks, you name it. One thing I was so happy to see was the Blending sponge. There was such a hype going on about Beauty Blender a while back, but the price was way to high. Especially not knowing If I would even like such a thing. I am so happy Catrice created It´s own dupe and I hope It will become one of my make-up staples. If nothing else, Catrice Make Up Blending Sponge will be a great way to release stress, since its so addictively squishy.

Another thing I picked up is yet another nail polish. But I promise I have nothing like it in my collection. I am recently on some sort of lavender/purple kick and this color is to die for. Not to mention purple is my absolute favourite color. I can´t wait to try Catrice Cosmetics It´s Time For Lovender

And lastly a new foundation. I was a bit sceptical about this one, because it is very liquidy and low coverage - both things I don´t usually go for. Still, Catrice always seems to pleasantly surprise me, so I got it anyways. If I don´t end up liking Nude Illusion Foundation, I will pass it on to my mommy. Problem solved.

Honestly, It feels quite nice to be back. I will report the results as soon as they are in, Ha ha. I hope you enjoyed this mini haul and stay tuned for more.

Macadamia Nourishing Leave-In Cream

Well hello,

you might have noticed I don´t write a lot about hair products here on my blog. That is because when I find something that works for my hair, I tend to stick to it. But every once in a while I go all bold and  try something new. Sometimes it is all worth it and this would be one of those times. I guess I should do that more often.

To be honest, this time the question wasn´t really if it works, more so if it works good enough to be worth the splurge. I tried quite a few Macadamia Natural Oil products before, some of them are my holy grail products. And I just had to try some more. I picked up Nourishing Leave-In cream and believe it or not it almost replaced my Deep Repair Masque. A part of the reason for that is my lack of time/laziness recently but also it works just about the same. Only it is so much easier and faster to use, also quite a bit cheaper.

Lately I have been using my drugstore conditioner (I have quite a few favourites, if you want me to write a post about them let me know in the comments) and on a towel dried hair just a little bit of Macadamia Leave-In Cream. Very little amount is enough, it absorbs like heaven and it leaves the hair silky and smooth, for days. I was amazed with the result. Even if you use to much it doesn´t show at all. My hair appears healthy and smooth and it looks like I straighten my hair, without the damage of actually using the flat iron. It really is impressive product. It has that really nice Macadamia product smell it almost reminds me of a bubble gum. I just can´t get enough.

Have you tried this amazing Leave-in cream? Do you prefer Deep repair masque? Let  me know.

Dove

Well hello,

I am sure you are no stranger to Dove brand, but it seems to me it doesn´t get a lot of love here in the blogging world. I feel it is one of the best skin/body care drugstore brands for sure. I am in love with many of their products as I keep repurchasing the same things over and over again. And I wanted to share my love for them to you all.

I have very dry skin, especially on my hands. (although my face apparently didn´t get the memo, Ha ha) In the winter time it usually gets so bad, that if I don´t use a hand cream,  my skin cracks and  it burns as hell. But not every cream helps. Correction, I rarely find one that does. Dove intensive nourishment hand cream does more than that. It leaves the skin feel very smooth and silky. And it lasts what it feels like forever. Most hand creams that I have tried I had to reapply every time I washed my hands, which is a pain. With this one, it´s unnecessary. Also it´s impressive how fast it absorbs into the skin. I just hate holding my hand in the air (like I just don´t care, Ha ha) and wait for it to dry. I am so impatient, I know. It claims to instantly soothe dry, rough hands and lasts up to 24 hours. I actually agree with this statement. Good job, Dove.

Another gem from this brand is their silky nourishing body cream. I usually use it right after I get out of the shower and it makes my skin feel so soft, even the next day. It really works amazing. I have tried a lot more expensive, cuter and better smelling (my fave scent is strawberry) body butters from The Body Shop, but in my opinion Dove wins all the way. Even though it doesn´t smell like anything fancy, it has this clean, creamy smell. I don´t know how else to describe it, but it´s nice. Also very affordable.

What is your fave body cream/butter brand?

IQ Make-up Brushes

Well hello,

you rarely see me blog about make-up brushes, because I have been using the same ones for ages. Around last Christmas time I found myself cruising around make-up brushes, because I got them for my sister as a present. And as a true shopaholic you know I had to get some for myself as well. And I am happy i did so.

I decided to pick up IQ Powder brush and a Blush Brush. I found these at Austrian drugstore called Bipa if anyone is interested. These brushes are your typical blush and powder brushes, but what sold me on them was their amazing softness. They are duo fiber brushes, easy to clean and take care off and they don´t shed at all. Also the price for these is very affordable.

Blush Brush is significantly smaller and can be used for applying and blending out blush, contouring, bronzing, you name it. The fibers are quite short and angled, fitted perfectly for hollows of the cheeks. It is not very dense, which allows blending, but definitely dense enough and more than the powder brush. Powder brush has longer fibers and it´s quite flat. It is meant for applying powder allover the face for mattyfying or setting your make-up, but not suited for applying liquid foundation.

The quality of both of these brushes is very good and they are available for a great price. I don´t remember how much they were exactly, but they were quite cheap for sure. I hope you try them out, you won´t regret it. If you know of similar brushes please do share. What brand  brushes are you using currently?

Love,
