Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette review

Well hello,

I know I am really late with this one, since everybody has already moved on to Naked 3 palette, but this palette is so amazing I had to give my two cents on it. I purchased the Naked 2 palette back in October of last year, just a little before the Naked 3 came out. I had no idea it was coming out, but to be really honest I would probably still choose the second one, because I think the colors suit me a lot more.

I know there are different opinions on the Naked palettes but I am completely in love with mine. I have been using it ever since I got it. True, it is not the most wearable palette if you don´t like wearing shimmery eye shadows on every day basis, but it is still pretty neutral and wearable to me.

It has 12 highly pigmented eye shadows, most of them shimmery, three of them are matte finish, but if you look really closely they still contain a few shimmers here and there. But nothing noticeable while wearing the eyeshadows. The colors are quite warm, there are gorgeous highlight colors like Bootycall and Foxy, beautiful golden and coppery colors and darker brown and black for the smoky eyes. Basically it has everything you need for a complete look and you can make tons of different looks using these shades. And  the name of the shadows are so cute.

As I mentioned before the pigmentation is really, really good, the shadows last forever, the only bad thing is that they have quite a bit of fallout. I had a bit of problems with one of the shades, Foxy, since it didn´t show up at all and that is why I don´t have a swatch on it. But I have been trying to make it work and it looks like I had to come under the first layer and now it is a lot better. But this was probably just mine.

from left to right: Suspect, Pistol, Verve, YDK, Busted and Blackout

My favourite  colors are Tease, Bootycall, Half baked and YDK, but all the shades are beautiful. The lack of matte finishes makes it a little challenging to find everyday, subtle looks, but I have been enjoying wearing Bootycall on the lid and Tease in the crease. And I got a lot of compliments on it as well.

Packaging is very compact and sturdy, which makes it great for traveling. Also it comes with a huge mirror, Double sided brush and a lip gloss. I am really impressed with the brush, it´s very soft and great quality. One side is flat for applying the eyeshadow on the lid, on the other is a blending brush. As the name suggest it is meant for blending the eye shadows. The lip gloss I didn´t like whatsoever. It had a minty taste and it had a plumping effect, which I don´t really like. Plus it was pretty sheer.

Do you own any of the Naked palettes? Which one do you like the best?

Love,
